Oh no…Robotnick! is a double album and CD – Released by Hot Elephant Music in the year 2002
With this album Maurizio Dami A.K.A. Alexander Robotnick goes back to the electro style he was known for in the early 80s. In fact, it cannot be said that his first album is an Italo Disco record. It is a kind of proto-electro of which some tracks can be labeled as electro-disco, like “Problèmes d’Amour”.
For this album Robotnick asked for Max Durante’s collaboration. In fact, this artist from Rome was well known for his adherence to this style. But later on this album was criticized for its sound too digital and far from Robotnick’s origins.
Thanks to Donatella Baggio Betti for her help with the lyrics. She also performed the vocals in Supermarket e Oui Je Thème. The track “Alienation” features also Matteo Logi. A vocal sample from Antonine Artaud was used In “What I Am”, he says:” What I Am I don’t care, I doubt the word to be” . Robotnick can only agree with that philosophy.
